Photojournalism
I was always attracted to documentary photography and to photojournalism.
When I have a camera in my hands, I hate asking someone to pose for me.
I want to be able to capture a scene or a person in the most natural environment possible, the one where the photographer is invisible (kind of hard being 6′ 3″).
In 2007 I submitted a small portfolio to the National Press Photographers Association contest NPPA Best of Journalism 2007.
To my surprise I was awarded second place.

In 2008 I submitted another portfolio to the Eddie Adams Workshop.
Again, to my complete surprise I was selected to spend 4 intense days and nights among the most talented photojournalists in the world, to hear their stories, to shoot with them and to get my portfolio reviewed (and butchered) by the best editors.
Another incredible experience that I never forget.

My wife Nadia and I decided to merge our passions for travel and photojournalism and organize our vacations shooting pro bono for NGO (Non Profit Organizations) in remote places around the world. We picked a destination, we contacted the NGOs operating in such place and offered our images in exchange for logistical support on the ground, we packed our gear and spent incredibly intense and emotional days. Vietnam and Brazil were amazing and touching experiences that touched us deeply.

The birth of our first child, Noah (and the upcoming arrival of his sister Emily) has slowed down our photojournalistic endeavor, turning us into adoring parents with an SLR camera.
We plan to soon resume our world travels with our cameras and our 2 new additions.
